'A little more'

Summer is always a manic time for our Exhibitions team - we may as well live in our suitcases. It’s a non–stop season with lots of travelling but, we love every minute of it!

The Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells, and the National Eisteddfod (held this year in Anglesey) are two of our summer staple shows that we work on every year. Both of these shows are always jam packed with people, and are great examples to showcase a Summer Exhibition.

So, what inside tips can we give our exhibitors for their 'Summer Shows'?

  • Bring your wellies (This is a must, especially in the UK!)

  • Have something engaging and inviting to bring more potential leads to your stand. People like to get involved and interact with something, and the more engaging it is, the more people will remember you.
  • Have a live social media wall to court social interactions
  • Use unconventional shapes, creative stands and graphics
  • Create clever bespoke pieces
  • Prepare for the follow-up.
  • Most importantly... offer 'a little more'. It can often be a good idea to offer your serious stand-visitors ‘a little something’, if it is a) memorable, b) relevant and c) worth keeping, however small and inexpensive.
  • ALWAYS calculate the cost of your attendance at an exhibition or trade show, and keep a track on its pay-back for you. Don’t go ‘because you always go’, don’t go ‘because you were told there was a spare place at the last minute’ — go ‘because it was worth your investment!’
  • Lastly, learn from others! Ask your existing customers what they liked and what they didn’t like from the exhibition? Ask them why they bought from you that first time, and ask similar suppliers who will tell you, what works best for them? Also, ask your exhibition organiser for their thoughts too? Their interests will be in winning your business back again, so the least they can do is to tell you who attended and what their wider feedback was.
