Dylan Thomas 100 Festival

A major Welsh Government led initiative supported by a wide range of key organisations, The Dylan Thomas 100 Festival was a year-long celebration of the life and work of Dylan Thomas, which presented a unique opportunity to raise the profile of Wales’ best loved poet both at home and internationally, in the run-up to the 100th anniversary of Thomas’ birth in November 2014.

Under the banner of Dylan Thomas 100, an emergent community of organisations including the British Council and Literature Wales combined with grass roots arts collectives, touring theatre companies, local authorities and broadcasters such as the BBC and S4C, in a programme that was as dynamic and inspiring as the prose of the man himself.

In March 2013 Orchard Entertainment was engaged by the Welsh Government and the festival’s stakeholders to act as the Festival Coordinators for the centenary celebrations. Orchard was honoured to except the challenge of coordinating such an exciting and prestigious project.

The Dylan Thomas 100 Festival was funded by the Welsh Government, the Arts Council of Wales via The National Lottery, and British Council Wales, with support from Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion County Councils and the City and County of Swansea.
