In collaboration with our Charity partner, Huggard, we’re encouraging you all to help us make a difference and help the homeless. How you ask? We’re organising a collection day in St David’s Shopping centre on Saturday 20th October, where you can donate your left-over toiletries, you know the ones that sit at the back of your cupboards after those wonderful summer holidays (or the ever-growing hoard of Christmas and Birthday gifts).
We’re also thrilled to announce Capital FM South Wales Breakfast DJ, Polly James as the campaign ambassador. Polly has always been an avid supporter of Huggard.
Polly said of the campaign,
“Huggard provides necessary toiletries, but these can be high in demand which is why Orchard’s #DonateDifferently campaign is so important. It’s not money they’re after, but vital items every human needs. I’m proud to be
of the campaign and I encourage others to get involved.”
Chief Executive at Huggard, Richard Edwards also said of the campaign,
“We’re really grateful that Orchard
helping raise awareness of our work in and around the city centre. It’s important that people know that it’s not only volunteer time and cash donations that help people- it’s also the little things that we all take for granted- toiletries being a key one.
Even if it’s one bar of soap, it makes a difference to someone so we urge everyone to donate differently this October.”
What can you donate?
Shower gels, shampoos, deodorant, sanitary items, toothpaste, toothbrushes, suntan lotion, toiletry gift sets; whatever you wish to give. Toiletries can go a long way to help someone and your donation will certainly be appreciated. It’s time to stop hoarding and join us to #DonateDifferently this October.
Where and when can you find us?
We’ll be located near Crouch and Swarovski on Saturday 20th October 2018 between 9am and 7pm where you can come and donate those toiletries!
If you miss us, you can drop them off to the Huggard Centre or to Orchard HQ.
