The month of May started with extremely positive news. We announced that we are transitioning into an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) model We will be joining some of the biggest brands such as John Lewis Partnership, Aardman, and Riverford in this pioneering step which places our future in the hands of our incredible 70-strong team. It means that every member of our team now has a direct stake in Orchard’s success, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and shared ownership – giving them a huge opportunity to take Orchard into an exciting future.

Our Content and Communications teams quite literally knocked it out of the park with their new tourism campaign for Visit Wales– ‘Wales by Tails. The campaign shot and produced by our Content team featured dogs in their latest tourism advertisements. The TV ad was aired on the 21st of May during the ad break of the final episode of the latest series of ‘For the love of dogs‘ featuring Alison Hammond on ITV Wales at 8.15pm. We think the campaign deserves a Round of A-Paws! Watch it here!

Not only did our Communications team succeed with the Visit Wales ad campaign, but they also delivered a Pear-Fect campaign for Brothers Cider. Their first TV campaign on ITVX was made live on the 20th of May, along with OOH screens, promoting their new branding and their new cider flavours – Un-Berrylievable, Best of the Zest, Berry Sub-Lime, App-Solutely Pear-Fect plus their new Festival Apple Cider, outside several Tesco’s and Asda stores across UK. If you catch any outside your local grocery stores, do share a picture with us!

Our Events team got behind supporting Sara Davies, and her label Coco & Cwtch, with her song production of “Anfonaf Angel” – the campaign song behind the campaign to see Wales represented as a nation in its own, right at the Eurovision Song Contest. Was a great experience to be part of something quite unique showcasing Wales’ rich musical and production talent. Good luck to Sara and her team!

And finally, for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we embraced the theme ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’. Mental health sits right at the centre of our PRIME values, and we encourage Team O to prioritise their mental health just as much as they prioritise their work. In support of this week, and the importance of moving more during work hours, we have introduced lunch time yoga sessions, a run club, after work sports, and encouraged incorporating stretch breaks throughout the day to maintain a healthy mental health.
